Oneness BlessingTM (Deeksha)

Oneness Blessing is an initiation, a transfer of divine energy or grace. It plants the seed for the flowering of the heart and oneness consciousness.  It inevitably dissolves separation and reconnects you with the whole. It is bliss, love and freedom to experience yourself as one.

All suffering is due to the misunderstanding, that our "self" is real, and separate from other "selves".

Oneness Blessings help to clear neuro-biological blockages in the brain, shifting its activity from the parietal to the frontal lobes.

Thus Deeksha can facilitate a shift in consciousness, as it supports the dissolution of the ancient mind that thinks in terms of separation, sowing the seeds for a direct experience of oneness.

It is only grace that can dissolve the experience of being separate from existence. Recently through Oneness Blessings, a direct transmission of grace has become possible.

The mind of man is like a wall which divides man from God.
The Deeksha is an electrical energy
that makes a hole in this wall, which we call the mind.
Once this happens, then man and god come to relate to each other.
Sri Bhagavan

This book, about the Oneness Blessing (Oneness Deeksha), is based on exclusive interviews with Oneness University founders, Sri Bhagavan and Sri Amma, as well as with the University's senior staff: Acharyas Anandagiri and Samadarshini. In addition, hundreds of Oneness Facilitators around the world were also interviewed.
Fully endorsed and authorized by the Oneness University in India, this new book will be made available in May 2007. Purchases of this book can be made via retail and online bookstores. It can also be purchased at the book's website www.awakeningintooneness.com, where a portion of the income will be donated to support developmental projects of the Oneness University in India.

Some Frequently Asked Questions:

• What is Deeksha / Oneness Blessing?

Also known as Oneness Deeksha, Oneness Blessing is a transfer of Divine Energy which, over time, is designed to bring about the state of Oneness in the recipient.

• What happens during Oneness Blessing?

Oneness Blessing initiates a neurobiological change in the brain that, when complete, enables the senses to be free from the interference of the mind. When the senses are unclouded by the mind's interpretations, a natural clarity of perception occurs with accompanying spontaneous feelings of joy, inner calmness and connection to the Oneness in everything.

• How is the Oneness Blessing transferred?

The Oneness Blessing is transferred by the Blessing giver normally placing his or her hands onto the crown of your head, usually for about one minute. Experiences during the Oneness Blessing ™ vary – sometimes strong, sometimes subtle, sometimes delayed until even days later. You may experience a tingling sensation in the head, or blissful energy flowing through the body, or sometimes nothing at all. Whatever the experience, please trust that the process of Oneness has begun, a process designed by Divine Grace for your own nature that will lead gradually (or sometimes spontaneously) into your own Awakening.

• How long does the energy stay within me?

The energy works powerfully in you for about a week, after that the effect of the Oneness Blessing begins to subside. This is very important to keep in mind as in the days following the energy transfer you may experience and process many things.

• Is Oneness Blessing a particular religion or belief?

No. Oneness Blessing does not adhere to any religion, nor any particular belief nor spiritual path. It is not necessary to change one's religion, nor adopt a new guru or spiritual master to receive Oneness Blessing ™ .

Who are the founders?

Amma BhagavanSri Bhagavan and Sri Amma are two divine beings (Avatars) residing at Golden City, near Chennai, in India. Their sole mission is to bring all of humanity into the Golden Age, by bringing 64,000 people to enlightenment. Once this happens, the rest of humanity will be transformed.

Only people who have completed the 21-day process in India are qualified to give Deeksha / Oneness Blessing™.

Who is Sri Bhagavan?

Sri Bhagavan was born on March 7th 1949 in a village called Natham, located at North Arcot District of Tamil Nadu. As a child he was known to be extraordinary, given more to aspects of introspection and solitude rather than to play.

At a very young age he had said that his purpose in life was to effect a massive change in the world. From 1983 to 1990 Bhagavan and his first disciples had gone into a retreat deep within the Chitoor Disrict of Andhra Predesh. They had set up a spiritual school called Jeevashram. It was during this time that a lot of individuals including his chosen disciples started having divine mystical experiences, which revealed to them who Bhagavan really was.
Revelations followed for the youthful disciples paving the way for the transmission of this message throughout India and around the world. From humble beginnings, today the movement is a growing phenomena with over 15 million followers. This number is increasing daily.

A Message from Sri Bhagavan

Humanity faces a quantum leap forward. It faces a deeper social upheaval and creative restructuring of all time. Without clearly recognizing it, we are engaged in building the world’s first Golden Age. In the near future we will be the first generation to create a global Golden Age.
The passage of time, from June 2004 to June 2012, is humanity’s greatest opportunity to become enlightened. A new civilization would come and along with it a new frame of consciousness. This new frame of consciousness would mean an increased ability to see things from a higher perspective. Our consciousness would continue to expand and there would be no returning to a tribal or a national life. Our energies would get directed towards spiritual enlightenment and wholeness. The world would be transformed, from one dominated by materialism to one of balance and spirituality. The currently ruling world order would be completely transformed to one of equality between all human beings.
The dawn of this new civilization, which we may call the Golden Age, is the single most explosive fact of our life times. We have a destiny to create – ‘A state of consciousness that is oneness with all that is’.

About Sri Amma

Amma was born on August 15th 1954 in a village called Sangam, in the state of Andhra Pradesh in Southourn India. Amma’s innocence, graciousness and immense wisdom instil in the hearts of the listener a tremendous reverence and an immediate affection and love for her. She has difficulty in saying no when asked. Tremendous miracles happen in her presence. She is the embodiment of love – the divine mother. One could say that Amma & Bhagavan are like one being in two bodies. Bhagavan is the one who is guiding this process and Amma is generating tremendous energy, so that the Oneness state becomes available for everyone. When asked about healing, Bhagavan often tells people to ask Amma as she will react faster than him. Amma is giving darshans in Nemam 5 days a week. Thousands of people gather to be in her presence. All seem to share a unique personal relationship with her.

Explanation of Deeksha by the monks at
Oneness University, India.

People visit places of power, People of power. Deeksha is a phenomenon of power.

Man has been endeavouring to raze down the wall of mind that separates him from God or the Transcendental. Meditations, techniques, teachings and every form of effort to still thought, instead of leading him to the goal, have made it farther away.

Sri Bhagavan says, "Thought cannot end thought; effort cannot end effort, the self cannot end itself." Every pursuit strengthens the pursuer and meditation the meditator.

When you know that the effort is counter productive, a new form of effort arises - the effort to stop all effort. Effort multiplies in an exponential ratio, effort, effort 2, effort 3. Thus numerous seekers fighting their battles with the mind have lost hope.

A spiritual awakening calls for the outbreak of a massive phenomenon and 'Deeksha' is the response to that call.
It is 'God' or 'The Divine', now punching a hole in the wall for man to cross over.

'Deeksha' is based on an ancient principle that says, 'anything could be transferred, be it states of consciousness, wisdom or energy'.

In the Vedic lineage there is a story of a master who enraged at his disciple demanded that he return the wisdom imparted to him. The obedient disciple coughs out a 'golden ball of insights' bestowed by the master. The 'Pentecost' phenomenon where the apostles laid their hands and people had a plethora of experiences also testifies the principle of transfer. In many eastern traditions the masters used 'Mantras' to transfer spiritual experiences and wisdom.

Deekshas by themselves have varied forms; the transfer by touch (Sparsha Deeksha), transfer through eyes (Nayana Deeksha), transfer through an intent (Smarana Deeksha), etc. Based on the evolution of the individual (giver and the receiver) the mode of deeksha undergoes a change.

Deeksha thus given affects a neuro-biological change. There are 16 centres in the brain responsible for definitive experiences like sensory perception, emotions of jealousy, hatred, fear, compassion, love, joy, separation, connectedness, creativity, learning, etc. deeksha results in the activation of certain centres and the de-activation of certain centres bringing about a shift in the perception and experience of life. The process finally lands the seeker in a permanent, incredible state of consciousness.

A unique feature about this phenomenon is 'a deeksha given is also deeksha received'. When you receive a deeksha, you are a beneficiary. That is well known - but when you give a deeksha, your spiritual process is accentuated to a great extent. You play a role of a helmsman who himself crosses the river rowing others ashore.

Millions across the globe are partaking divine grace in the form of Deeksha that quenches everyone's thirst. It is the convergence of man's passion and God's compassion.

The above description of deekshas was taken from www.onenessuniversity.org

What is Oneness?

...and why does it matter?

If you have found your way to a Deeksha event, or to this website, you're more than likely seeking answers. You may have participated in self-development courses or studied with a spiritual teacher.

And while the quality of your life, physically, emotionally and spiritually may have improved, nonetheless, you may feel that there is something still missing, something still in the way of getting the life you want, the happiness you desire and the peace you are searching for.

What if the ‘thing in the way' was YOU? What if your idea of yourself as a separate self is blocking your access to permanent peace; love and happiness?

As human beings, we believe we are separate. We each believe we are one small person in a large, scary universe. This belief in ‘me' as ‘separate from ‘you' is so basic that no-one questions it.

As human beings, we preoccupy ourselves every day with imaginary problems: What if I run out of money? What if my partner leaves me? What if I get caught in traffic? and so on.

This incessant struggle with problems that may never exist is surely a sign of insanity! Yet most of our lives are spent in fear, and most of these fears never happen and have no basis in reality. The compulsive thinker – which means almost everyone – lives in a state of apparent separateness, in an insanely complex world of continuous problems and conflict, a world that reflects the ever-increasing fragmentation of the mind.

The mind, and the idea of a separate self, holds you to ransom. It sabotages your plans, your joy and your ultimate happiness. It tells you clearly that you are your thoughts, your feelings and your body.

But what if you were not any of those things?

The beginning of freedom is the realisation that you are not ‘the thinker'.

Knowing this enables you to observe ‘the thinker'. The moment you start watching ‘the thinker', a higher level of consciousness becomes activated. You then begin to realise that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence. You also realise that all the things that truly matter – beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace – arise from beyond the mind.

You begin to awaken, freeing yourself from your mind.

Start listening to the voice in your head as often as you can, and listen to it impartially – do not judge it. Do not judge or condemn what you hear – if you do, then the thinker has come in again through the back door. When you listen to a thought, you become aware not only of the thought, but also of yourself as the witness of the thought. A new dimension of consciousness has come in. As you listen to the thought, you feel a conscious presence – your deeper self – behind or underneath the thought, as it were. The thought then loses its power over you and quickly subsides, because you are no longer energising the mind through identification with it. This is the beginning of the end of involuntary and compulsive thinking.

When a thought subsides, you experience a discontinuity in the mental stream – a gap of "no- mind." At first, the gaps will be short, a few seconds perhaps, but gradually they will become longer. When these gaps occur, you feel a certain stillness and peace inside you. This is the beginning of your natural state of felt oneness with Being, which is usually obscured by the mind. With practice, the sense of stillness and peace will deepen. In fact, there is no end to its depth.

You will also feel a subtle emanation of joy arising from deep within: the joy of Being.

Sri Bhagavan says, "Thought cannot end thought; effort cannot end effort, the self cannot end itself."

Deeksha is the key to quietening the mind. It affects a neuro-biological change within the 16 centres of the brain responsible for experiences like sensory perception, emotions of jealousy, hatred, fear, compassion, love, joy, separation, connectedness, creativity, learning, etc.

When you receive Deeksha, an activation of the frontal lobes occurs, with a corresponding deactivation of the parietal lobes, bringing about a shift in the perception and experience of life.

The Deeksha first installs the neurobiological hardware of Oneness, and the software in the form of the experience slowly catches up.

Very often, people have access to great awakenings, but do not have the prepared brain to sustain and integrate such awakenings – they remain unrounded, and the experience does not last.

Deeksha offers a way to permanently anchor the awakening experience.
